Caribou - Our love (live @ KCRW)

Dan Snaith aka Caribou performs the title track of his excellent new album ‘Our love’ with a live band, over at KCRW. Great, spacey stuff.

Mark Lanegan - I am the wolf (Live on KEXP)

A bluesy track off Mark Lanegan’s new album Phantom Radio (out 20/10 via Heavenly Recordings). The new album also touches other genres such as postpunk and electronica, but this one is vintage Lanegan: slow and intriguing.

Underworld - Dubnobasswithmyheadman reissue
Exactly twenty years ago iconic dance outfit Underworld released their mythic debut album Dubnobasswithmyheadman. It got critically acclaimed at the time, but it was only after the release of the film ‘Trainspotting’ and its soundtrack which featured the single ‘Born slippy’ (not present on Dubnobasswithmyheadman) that Underworld would gain global fame. Today, October 11th, the band will perform their entire debut album at the Royal Festival Hall in London. A huge honour.

A Winged Victory For The Sullen - Atomos II

Atomos is the second album by neoclassical / ambient outfit A Winged Victory For The Sullen. The duo was asked to create music for a new choreography by Wayne McGregor - you might know him from Radiohead’s video for ‘Lotus flower’ - but decided to make a full album out of it. Everything they do is  intensely measured, contemplative and slow. Check it out!

Alt-J - Every other freckle (live @ KCRW)

Alt-J returns to form with their sophomore 2nd album ‘This is all yours’. Here they perform the single ‘Every other freckle’ for the very influential alternative radio station KCRW.

Balthazar - Leipzig - CARDINAL SESSIONS (Appletree Garden Special)

Balthazar perform the single ‘Leipzig’ almost completely a capella … A third album is in the making!

Magnus - Puppy feat. Tim Vanhamel (Official video)

Second single off the new album ‘Where neon goes to die’, which was released ten years after the classic debut ‘The body gave you everything’. Magnus is a collobaration between Tom Barman (dEUS) and techno legend CJ Bolland. This track features Tim Vanhamel (Millionaire, ex-dEUS and ex-Broken Glass Heroes) on vocals and guitar.

Nick Mulvey - Music Feeds Studio Session

Nick Mulvey might be the next big thing in folk. The way he plays guitar is inventive and the songs as well as his voice stand on a high level. Mulvey’s debut album ‘First mind’ is one not to be missed!

Damien Rice - My favourite faded fantasy (audio)
Thé Irish troubadour returns with his first new album in eight years! ‘My favourite faded fantasy’ is produced by Rick Rubin and will hit stores November 11th via Warner Bros. Records.
Damien Rice has now shared the first single (and title track): it starts off rather slow on an acoustic basis, like most of Rice’s songs, until it bursts open with a blast of strings and booming drums. One thing is already clear: this album is one to anticipate!

Mark Lanegan Band - Sad lover (official video)

Recognizable, but yet again slightly different: the new single by Mark Lanegan. His voice is in its highest register to date - the man quit smoking and all other forbidden substances - and there were never that many electronic effects in his solo work. Do you like it as well?

'Sad lover' appears on the 'No bells on Sunday' EP.
