Sparklehorse - It’s a wonderful life
It’s been exactly three years since Sparklehorse singer Mark Linkous has left us. This is for him. RIP.

The Specials - A message to Rudy & Done too much (live @ Pinkpop 2012)
Two absolute classics to cheer up your Sunday!
Atoms For Peace - Ingenue
Thom Yorke dances … again. At one certain moment today the Radiohead singer was worldwide trending on Twitter because of this performance in the new Atoms For Peace video. That band features Yorke, Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers and longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich. Their first album ‘AMOK’ can be found in the best music shops since this week … don’t hesitate to buy it, because it is genius.
Mauro Pawlowski - Blood in my eyes (Bob Dylan cover)
Not a pro shot video, but the sound is allright. This song was captured during a recent Valentine show Mauro Pawlowski (dEUS’ guitar player, a phenomenom well known for his many sideprojects as well) did in Wilrijk, Antwerp. It’s a brilliant interpretation of the Bob Dylan song. Enjoy!
Mujeres - Salvaje
A really hot rock’n roll band with latin influences from Barcelona. Imagine The Cramps, Hüskür Dü and Howler preparing an explosive cocktail, and you’re close to comprehending the sound of Mujeres.
The entire 2012 album ‘Soft gems’ can be heard on Mujeres’ Bandcamp. ‘Salvaje’, the song you can hear above, is a perfect intro …
Last Shop Standing (trailer)
The organizers of Record Store Day 2013 have chosen an official film for this year’s edition: Last Shop Standing. The trailer features good people like Paul Weller, Johnny Marr, Billy Bragg and Richard Hawlay. This is the full statement:
It’s probably not shocking that one of our favorite film categories is MOVIES ABOUT RECORD STORES. For our OFFICIAL FILM OF RECORD STORE DAY 2013 we’ve chosen a doozy: Last Shop Standing: The Rise and Fall and Rebirth of the Independent Record Shop. It’s based on a book by Graham Jones, directed by Pip Piper, and we think you’ll dig it too. More details to come on its US premiere, and how you can get a copy for yourself.
Nice!
Urban Dance Squad - Temporarily expendable
Studio Brussel is still having their nineties week, and this is one of those delicious pop singles I forgot about. I can’t see why though, because it triggers you immediately.
Urban Dance Squad from Holland was one of the first bands that combined rap, funk, metal and pop to create their own universe, and their influence on bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Rage Against The Machine can’t be underestimated. They are not a group anymore, but lead singer Rudeboy still makes music.
The Beta Band - Squares
This would be a perfect fit for the nineties week Studio Brussel are having. It is based upon a melody from Belgian icons Wallace Collection.
Richard Hawley - Leave your body behind you (live)
Top class live performance of one of the best tracks of last year’s masterpiece ‘Standing at the sky’s edge’.
Bat For Lashes - Lilies (live session)
A beautiful radio performance of the opening song on Natasha Kahn’s most recent album ‘The haunted man’ … Jump to WFUV Radio to see ‘All your gold’ and ‘Laura’ from the same amazing session.
